Nursing 

Nursing care is a significant part of ensuring the health and wellness of our participants. Worldshine seeks part-time and full-time RNs, CNAs, CMTs for a variety of nursing positions. 

 

Nursing position opening:

 

RN job description:

    • Establish and maintain communication with each participant’s physician.
    • Provide emergency and ongoing medical care to participants.
    • Assist the Program/Nursing Director in the development and ongoing review of the participant’s plan of care.
    • Administer physician ordered medications and treatments.
    • Provide ongoing assessment of each participant’s physical and psychosocial status.
    • Documents at least monthly in participant records.  Examples of documentation include, but are not limited to, observations of the health and functional status of participants, incidents, conversations with physician or family members/legal representatives, and similar information, in accordance with accepted standards under the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.  
    • Assist the Program /Nursing Director in the supervision of program assistants as they perform personal care responsibilities.
    • Provide counselling to participants and caregivers regarding health related issues 
    • Assist in the provision of educational programs to participants, caregivers, staff and volunteers.
    • Maintain regular contact with caregivers to discuss participant progress and changes in functioning.
    • Assist, as necessary, in the delivery of other required program services.
    • May assist in developing and amending health policies.
    • Supervise the daily work of CNA, CMT, medical translator.
    • Complete monthly note.
    • Complete ADCAPS every 120 days or as needed.
    • Complete progress note.
    • Complete physician order every 180 days.
    • Perform direct patient care.
    • Review and sign Medication Administration Record (MAR) monthly.
    • Stay up to date with DHMH’s regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

    • Bachelor degree or master degree in nursing.
    • Pass the National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX-RN.
    • Current state licensure as a registered nurse and BLS certification required.
    • ACLS certification
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Professional, friendly attitude.
    • Experience in health care.

 

CNA job description:

    • Aware of areas which make participants subject to abuse and prevent such abuse.
    • Maintain open lines of communication among the nursing shifts, and departments, supervisors, and families.
    • Aware of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner, consistently reinforces good safety attitudes and practices displayed by other staff members.
    • Control, prepare, and administer treatments and medications with knowledge of purpose and adverse effects of the nursing care provided.
    • Function as a knowledgeable and supportive committee member upon request by the Director of Nursing to maintain high levels of health care.
    • Complete all documentation for assessments, observations, planning evaluation, orders by physicians and care provided to participants.
    • Utilize professional assessment skills to identify physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of participants, patients and is able to develop a care plan to meet these needs in a multi-disciplinary approach.
    • Maintain a positive environment.
    • Function as a resource person and mentor to peer and subordinates to maintain professional nursing standards.
    • Act on participants behalf to assure patient rights and is aware of and prevents participants’ abuse.
  • Maintain the refrigerator temperature log.
    • Maintain the glucometer calibration log.
    • Take Clients’  Vital Signs as physician order.
    • Take glucose Finger stick POC as physician order.
    • Perform direct patient care including: rounding, toileting, feeding.
    • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirement:

    • State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
    • Current CPR (American Heart Association).
    • Nursing degree from a CNA program.
    • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
    • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
    • High School graduate or equivalent.
    • Current identification.
    • Comfortable using a computer.
    • Excellent personal hygiene.

 

Transportation

Driver 

Location: Germantown, MD or Beltsville, MD

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Responsibility:

    • Operate the vehicle in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life 
    • Operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.  
    • Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks.  
    • Clean the vehicle as scheduled and/or required.  
    • Ensure the vehicle is safely and securely stored.  
    • Inform the transportation manager of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. 
    • Pick up and drop off participants as per a set schedule.  
    • Fill and submit the daily transportation log to the manager.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    • Must maintain professional demeanor at all times.
    • Complete all required training annually.

 

Requirement:

    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Acceptable Driving record.
    • Excellent driving skills.
    • Ability to drive with seniors.
    • Ability to lift ~ 50lbs.

    • Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and criminal background investigation

Kitchen Helper 

Location: Germantown, MD or Beltsville, MD

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

 

Job Description:

    • Performs any combination of following duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition: Sweeps and mops floors.
    • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
    • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
    • Steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans.
    • Sorts bottles, and breaks disposable ones in a bottle-crushing machine.
    • Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.
    • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
    • Polishes silver, using a burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth.
    • Holds inverted glasses over revolving brushes to clean inside surfaces.
    • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of hand truck.
    • Sets up banquet tables.
    • Washes and peels vegetables, using a knife or peeling machine.
    • Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.

 

Qualifications

    • Great interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proven working experience as a kitchen helper
    • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
    • Proactivity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Knowledge of health and safety standards
    • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and maintain schedule while responding to incident
