This past Saturday, a group from Worldshine Adult Medical Daycare Frederick Center visited a local public golf course for a hands-on introduction to the sport. With clear skies and comfortable weather, it was the perfect morning to try something new outdoors. Members arrived curious and ready to participate, including many who had never picked up a golf club before.

Staff at the course began with a short presentation, introducing the basics of golf—from how to hold the club to the simple rules of a swing. They also walked members through the different types of clubs, explaining what each one is meant for and letting everyone take a closer look. After the demonstration, members stepped up to try it themselves. Some tested their grip a few times before swinging, others experimented with different clubs to see how they felt. A few shots went cleanly down the range, while others curved or barely lifted, but each attempt brought light chatter, small jokes, and shared encouragement as everyone eased into the activity.

When the session came to a close, members headed back in a light mood, talking casually about the parts they enjoyed and the things they managed to try for the first time. It was a straightforward outing that added something a little different to their week.
