At Worldshine, care is more than a job—it’s a relationship built on trust, kindness, and respect. On May 12th, in honor of International Nurses Day, our members at the Gaithersburg and Beltsville centers came together to show just how much their nurses mean to them.
At Gaithersburg: Words from the Heart
The celebration at Gaithersburg opened with a warm message from the center director, who thanked the nursing team for their tireless commitment and daily compassion. It was a simple but meaningful moment—recognition from leadership that truly mattered.
Then came something even more touching: our members took the spotlight.
Several ladies stepped forward to share poems and short reflections they had prepared. Their words were genuine and heartfelt, filled with gratitude for the everyday moments—morning greetings, patient reminders, a steady hand when it’s needed most.
Each nurse received a bouquet of fresh flowers, handed over with applause and quiet smiles. “It’s easy to forget how much the little things mean,” one nurse said afterward. “Today was a beautiful reminder.”
At Beltsville: Handmade Thanks
In Beltsville, the mood was just as warm—and a little more hands-on. Members of the handcraft group had spent the week making paper flowers, each with a personal message tucked inside. These thoughtful gifts were presented during the celebration, followed by songs and readings from the members themselves.
The room filled with music, laughter, and emotion. The performances weren’t perfect—but they were sincere, and that’s what made them special.
Thank You, Nurses
International Nurses Day is about honoring the people who show up—day in and day out—with care, patience, and heart. At Worldshine, we’re lucky to have a team that does exactly that.
To our amazing nurses: thank you. Your work matters, your kindness matters, and you are deeply appreciated—every single day.
